This week we have been looking at homes for sale and learning all about materials. We have continued to learn all about quick sounds and writing in sentences. We have also been learning about rhyming strings. In maths, we continued to expand our knowledge about 2 and 3 dimensional shapes. We have also been learning how to count without moving the object we are counting! The children have particularly enjoyed making houses using salt dough and other materials as well as designing their dream home!

Our Challenge

Could your child ask an older member of the family about where they lived? The target is to increase their understanding of different environments and also find out similarities/differences of the past and now. A few questions to ask could be:

Which country/town/city did you live?

What type of house was it?

Who did you live with?

How many rooms were there and what were they used for?

Was there a school/park/shop nearby?

Was it near the city or the countryside?

Did you have a computer?

Did you like it there? Why?
