Literacy – Today, we are going to finish retelling the story "Escape from Pompeii". Here is my summary of the story -

1. Introduction – Tranio, the son of an actor, lives in a city called Pompeii and is friends with Livia. There have been earthquakes before in the city.
2. Build-up – Tranio is watching his father rehearse a play when the ground trembles, so he goes to find Livia.
3. Climax – The sky is dark outside so they hide in a boat and fall asleep. They awaken to see Pompeii very far away.
4. Resolution – Mount Vesuvius erupts and destroys their town.
5. Ending – The children have grown up and remember Pompeii.

There should be at least 5 paragraphs, one for each part of the story.

to help you. We are finishing retelling the story by writing about the second half of the story today. Write from when the children wake up on the boat to the end. Use time connectives, interesting adjectives and full sentences with capital letters and full stops. Write in detail and tell us what Tranio sees, hears, smells and feels.

Topic - Each day, choose one of these activities to do for your afternoon topic lesson. You can do it by yourself, with a sibling or with your family.

• Learn all about the London Marathon. Challenge yourself and see how far you can run when doing your daily exercise.
