This week we have been learning all about the very busy spider by Eric Carle. The children have played games with pipes, weaved and also learned all about labelling. Our caterpillars are also growing and, it looks like they are building their chrysalises. In phonics we have been decoding words and blending and continue to learn our quick sounds gl, and gr, cl and tr from phase 4. In maths we have been learning to find the difference by counting on, sometimes using our fingers and also using a number line. We have been also been practicing for sports day using been bags... such fun!

Next week we will be reading The Quiet Cricket by Eric Carle. We will continue with phase 4 phonics and will be learning how to spell our tricky words. In maths we will be revising our shapes and also halving/doubling.

Our Challenge

As we are looking at crickets. We have sent a worksheet home. Can you and your child label the parts of a cricket? you can do this verbally or even attempt some writing. What is important, is that you discuss the parts and where they are. Can you find out what these parts are for? What other facts can you find out about the cricket?

Reminders

  1. Sports Day: Weds 29th June.
  2. Please check your child has the correct jumper or cardigan as we still have a lost girls cardigan in F2 and, please name all items.
  3. Please make sure your child has a bottle of water each day and a sun hat. It is so important in such hot weather.
  4. It is Circle time each Monday. This is a time where your child can talk freely about anything that is important to them and let all of F2 know their news. If your child has anything they want to share, could they please bring it in on a Monday.
