Darwin's Daily Blog

Today, I will be travelling to the Galapagos Islands. I am currently on the HMS Beagle. It is the 15th of September, 1835. I am on my way to the lovely Island. I have not been there yet, so this journey will be an exhilarating trip.

My Discoveries

On my extremely long trip, I have discovered new fishes! Here is some information on the fishes I have discovered.

Parrot Fish < An image of this fish

These fishes are amazingly rare. They are very colourful, and extraordinarily long. They are also very loud. Whilst I was sliding against the ocean's waves, on the HMS Beagle, I heard a strange noise, and thought to myself, " Hmm, I wonder what that could be?" I looked down, and my eyes were amazed.

King Angelfish

The Angel Fish is medium-sized, with stunning, blue, scaled skin. Eye-catching orange fins they have. These fishes have marvellous white, vertical stripes on the side of them.

Giant Turtle

This discovery is massive. They live for over one hundred years! There are thirteen different species of this herbivore. Their shell is as hard as a rock. They are unable to swim, as they are land animals. They normally walk sixty metres per hour.
