Year 6 home learning 4/5/20

Hello Year 6,

We have now finished our Charles Darwin topic and are moving onto Frozen Kingdom this week. English - Creative Writing

TASK 1: Instead of Pobble this week, we are going to do something slightly different linked to our topic!

Look at the range of weird and wonderful images of icebergs and ice formations below. Compose 6 research questions, such as: How do icebergs form? Where do they go? Are icebergs dangerous? Think of words to describe them and make an iceberg vocabulary list.

TASK 2: Research using books or the internet to answer your questions. Create a blog or poster with the answers to display your research. Check out the meaning of specialist vocabulary such as ice shelf, calve, glacier, melt ponds and growlers and include definitions in your blog. List any interesting iceberg facts you discover during your reading - maybe you could include a 'Did You Know?' box.
