Leopard fact file

Leopards are mammals.

They are carnivors (meat eater). Can live to 17 years old.

A leopards latin name is

Panthera pardus.

Like cats we have as pets

leopards growl when angry and purr when happy.

Leopards eyes

are usually green.

Leopards can run very fast,

over 36 miles per hour.

They can jump up over 6m high in the air and over 3m long. I can jump a metre high and a little bit longer!

Leopards have two to three babies, are hidden by their mum for the first 8 weeks of their life to stop predators eating them.

Leopards dark spots are called rosettes and are very beautiful.
