My Travel Review of travelling to Berlin, Germany
Only a year ago, I was granted the permission of visiting any other country other than Poland. But, it was hard to choose which place to go, so I looked at neighbouring countries and I said to do the capital of Germany (Deutschland), Berlin. But, of course, my Mum wanted to take her friend Magda, and her 5 year old daughter Claudia.
I was absolutely disgusted by this idea but I knew I had to listen to my mother, to provoke any more arguments.
The trip was going to happen on a cold sunny morning when we packed our suitcases and bags and left at 4:30. We took an UBER to Golders Green, the driver's name was Anthony, and guess what! He was Polish as well!
He greeted us nicely and led us to his car (I think it was a black car) and we put our luggage in the trunk of the car. Then, we took off into the sunrise of 4 o'clock.
It was a fairly moderate drive, not too bumpy, not too loud and definitely not garbage, but my mum had to ruin it by talking as loud as she can to the UBER driver. She talked and droned on about 'It's nice to meet you!' or 'How was your day', but I managed to not snap at my mother about talking too much as she always did.
It was about 4:50 when we got to the coach, we were about 20 minutes early and we waited, always looking at the closed station and the newsagent's store which was barred.
Finally, the coach arrived, there was a bit of a riot of bus tickets, but we still got on, it was about Easy Bus tickets, by the looks of it, it was not easy at all.
The coach ride took 1 hour and 27 minutes, even though it was about 1 hour to me, the ride consists of big, grey townships and lush, green countrysides. When we got out, it was still sort of chilly. At least, we weren't with Magda and Claudia.
It was not in terminals, it was in gates, some of them needed the Stansted Metro (Yes, it's Stansted Airport!) and some of them were about walking Five to Ten minutes.
We walked.
The walk was not 10 minutes long, if felt like it was 3 minutes. Going down the stairs through the long passageway, with a passage and a conveyor belt and finally through the gates.
The gates section was huge, with 6 to 10 gates all lined up at either side, with a huge window at the front, the toilets were at the centre where the boys' room was at the right side and the girls' room at the left. There were a lot of shops in the centre, including a coffee shop.
It was a long, long, long wait at the airport for our plane to land. Even though it was only 2 hours of a wait. Now, it was a beautiful mostly cloudy day, each one blotting out the sun for a minute.
Finally, the airplane arrived and there was a rush to get on an airplane, so we had to wait.
After our 2 hour long ride, there was the first sight of Berlin. It looked like it is going to drizzle outside because of the white, fluffy clouds. Another thing about the weather is that it was misty, I mean, really misty. It was like as though some one had a very large oven, all around the plane.
After I got out the plane and on the local airport bus, I noticed another thing with the weather, it was hot, really hot! It was like burning outside. Then, there was a the weird feeling of stiffness in the air.
We met Magda and Claudia at the place where taxi's and buses stop to pick people up. Then, they led us to their rubbish ridden car.
