HOW TO MAKE A BIRD FEEDER OUT OF PLASTIC BOTTLES

Materials Needed: Tools Needed:

2 recycled plastic bottles - 1 fat 1 thinner Wire Cutter

a plastic plate Glue

a thin metal wire hanger Knife

marker

nail

How to make it

1. With the larger bottle, cut two windows at the bottom using your knife. Heat the knife on your stove so it can cut the bottle better.

2. Cut the windows right about at 14 cm high from the bottom.

3. Ask your parents to help you with this part, use your knife again to cut the bottom part but not all of it and use your nail to make two holes on either side of the bottle. To make the holes, heat the nail, warning it will burn your hand if it touches you. These holes are where you will put the thin metal wire for the hanger.

4. Cut the wire hanger so that you have a long wire. Bend the wire into a u shape, then bend the ends with the wire cutter down and stick it in small bottle.

5. Glue the base feeder on to the plate.

6. Put the feeder bottle into the base and glue the two pieces together.

7. Wait for an hour until the glue sets, and your feeder is ready. Feel free to decorate the feeder more.

8. Place your bird feed into the top, and put the feeder outside and watch the show!
