Food Chains



A food chain refers to the sequence of events in an ecosystem, where one organism eats one another and then is eaten by another organism.

The arrows show how energy is passed from one living thing to another living thing. The arrow means 'eaten by'. The primary source of energy for organisms and the ecosystems is the sun.

Plants are called producers as they make their own food. They get

their energy from the sun.
