YEAR 5 AUTUMN TERM

Hello, we are year 5. We have had a spectacular start to the term. You might know that on Monday 2nd October it was Victorian Day in Year 5! First, one class did cooking which was in 5G. We made biscuits from Victorian recipes such as lemon and lavender biscuits and jam drop shortbread.

The second class explored Victorian Artefacts.

The third class was a Victorian school. It was very strict in there. In the school, you had to learn how to convert your money to pennies,Pounds and Guineas. You also had to learn how to draw a simple duck. Here are some picture below.

The final place was the hall. In the hall, we were playing some Victorian games.They played football, Tiddleywinks, jumping rope, spinning toys on the floor and the final game was the blind man's buff. There are two pictures below.

This game is called 'Kim's Game ffjme'.

In this game, you have to try and go under the bridge. Sounds quite easy, right, but there's a twist... the people who are the bridge have to sing a song, when they finish it, they put their hands down and catch a person. Then that person is on their team.

We have had a very great start to the term. Soon in the term we will have our second reading tests to have our new reading levels. I hope you had a nice time reading what we have done in the term.
