The Aleppo Pine grows in the hotter parts of the

Mediterranean coast where brush and forest fires

are more frequent. They are commonly scattered on sunny

hills or on slopes that lead down to the seashore.

Borage

Borage, also known as starflower,

is an annual herb. The flowers are

perfect with five narrow, triangular-

pointed petals. Flowers are most often blue in colour, although pink flowers are sometimes examined. White flowered types are also grown.

Greater Snapdragon

Snapdragons are mostly short-lived perennial

plants, though some species are annuals. The

simple leaves are usually lance-shaped. The

flowers are tubular, bilaterally symmetrical,

and usually large with a closed liplike moth that excludes most insects but can be forced open by strong bees, the main pollinators.
