Ares is the God of War and people say he is handsome but cruel. His Roman name was Mars. Ares best friend was Eris the spirit of disagreement. When Ancient Greeks went to war Ares and Eris made the same team fight each other. Ares was Zeus's son the king of the gods. His mother was Hera Queen of the gods and marriage. His bird is the Vulture and his animal (his pet) is the Dog. Ares girlfriend was Aphrodite (even though she was married to Hephaestus.) One of Ares enemies were Hephaestus because he loved Aphrodite. Ares lived on Mount Olympus with most of the gods. He has a sword that is as sharp as a spike and a strong, circular, and protective shield. On his head he has a golden helmet that has a maroon red feather on top of it. He was usually in most of the ancient greek wars. He has a purple kind of cape around his neck.
