THE WRITER

The process took a great deal of time and effort, but doesn’t

anything that’s important to us? Will gently moved the back

of his hand across the parchment. He loved the feeling of it

against his skin; it was smooth and silky like the fresh water

of a spring cascading over his fingers.

Feeling relaxed, Will was a master of his trade. Words came as easily to him as song to a nightingale. The whole experience of writing filled his heart with pure joy, but at the same time Will knew he had to concentrate; he had an important job to do if he didn't get the story finished in time he would have been in grave trouble. Luckily for him words came out easily, but there was something distracting him, he couldn't understand what it was, and Will knew that if this carried on he would never be able to finish in time.

Will knew very well that he couldn't just go off and search for the thing or person distracting him, no, he had to complete the story. Suddenly, Will felt that the parchment was rough and hard, he also felt that he had no more ideas for what to write about, he then felt a great dislike overcoming him. This had never happened before, he remembered the promise he had made to the town saying that he would write about its past history, and remembered the town's people demanding the story to be finished in 48 hours or else he would have to leave.

Now he didn't seem to care about the threats and felt a great urge to get as far away from writing. Out of nowhere he got up and followed the noise it seemed to have been coming from a random box beside him. He opened it up and suddenly the colour white filled his eyes.

1. I think that Will is a man who has a passion for writing. He likes writing because it says that he finds it relaxing and that words comes out easily for him.

2. I think that the book Will is writing is extremely large and that he isn't very small.

3. I think that "he had an important job to do" means that the parchment he was writing was very important and also may have been for someone important. He is writing because someone has asked him to do so.
