information about volcano vesuvius

In italy there is a volcano called vesuvius.

The nearby towns are Naples,Pompeii and Herculamenu.The volcano is very high its 1,220 meters.

It errupted in 24th August,AD 27.

The results are that Pompeii andvHerculaneum disappeard under ash and lava.

How did we know ?Well our friend called Pliny wrote about the volcano when it erupted in AD 79.
