The Picnic

There's snow, delicate snow drifting upon the concrete. Barney rushes outside as quick as he can and lowers himself down, flat making a snow angel. Then he remembered that he wasn't wearing a coat or jacket, but suprisingly enough, he didn't feel the coldness (let alone the numbness). The early morning sun, still waking up, stretches it's shining streaks across the fair sky.

Abruptly he's interupted with a sudden shake and a harsh force against his shoulders. Lou stood before him. "Alright, come on Barney. It's already twelve thirty! Mum's waiting for you to come down. So brush your teeth, get dressed and by the way, HURRY UP!" she exclaimed. Baney blinked back the fright and stared at her blankly. Not long after Lou left the room, he yawned simultaneously with the birds' sweet, intricate song. When he had completed Lou's exact instructions, he descended silently down the stairs. Luckily no one had noticed him, so he grabbed his parker and yanked on his boots. He crept slowly into the kitchen and swiftly stuffed a cotten sack with a few snack items.

As Barney skipped along the passage, he yelled,, "Mum I'm going to Granny's!" Once he had slammed the door, quite loudly, he ran adjacent to the pavement. Eventually when he had got there, he greeted his grandmother politely. After he had done that, he asked if he could go to the Chalk-pit. Obviously she agreed for him to go, but not for long. He had already reached Stig in a few moments. Unfortunately for Stig, Barney grabbed him by his wrist and hopped up by the endless fields. Barney carefully laid out the old blanket, he had kept in mind to bring. Stig looked at his friend,, expressionless. Barney just sat straight down and, for Stig to understand, he made patting gestures on the sheet. Gentle rain starts to spill from under the sky. A warm breeze trailed softly against the ground. A little while after the two boys had eaten their delightful picnic, Barney suggested that they go for a walk.. So on their walk, Stig was taken by suprise about the world outside the Chalk-pit. He is amazed about the wonderful wonders of the earth.

Back at Granny's house, Barney's mum and sister comes over. After they had their grandmother had welcomed each of them, Lou's mother had wondered where Barney was so she pulled out her thoughts into word form and asked granny. "I'm sorry dear he's not here he's gone off to the Chalk-pit with his friend 'Stig' probably."

" Okay then thats alright he'll be back soon."
