All about Captain Tom!

1. Captain Tom set out to raise £1,000 for the NHS but has raised so far £32,000,000 and is still going up.

1. For his 100th birthday he walked 100 laps of his garden.

1. Captain Tom is now the Colonel of the Army Foundation College.

1. He was presented with his WWII Defence medal, that he had previously lost 1939-1945 (the dates he owned the medal).

1. He was also given the annual prestigious Yorkshire Regimental medal.

1. He served and fought in India and Burma.

1. He has made a duet with Michael Ball which has reached number 1 in the charts.

1. He now has a Royal Mail birthday post mark to his name.

1. He had received treatment from the NHS for skin cancer and more recently a broken hip.
