World Book Day!

This week we celebrated 'World Book Day 2017' on Thursday by dressing up. In Year 4 we had the most amazing outfits from Gangsta Granny to Pikachu! Everyone looked pretty impressive, even the teachers!

The bell went three times during the day - we stopped whatever we were doing to read for pleasure! The sun came out in the afternoon so we even enjoyed reading outside.

We talked about the value of books and found out that there are over 50 million children who don't have a school to go to, which means that they have probably never even read a book. We also saw how books are made and were surprised that 2-3 thousand books are printed every single hour!

Book lovers are celebrating their favorite stories once again as World Book Day is back and marking its 20th anniversary. The annual celebration of authors, illustrators and reading is marked in more than 100 countries around the world.

Don't forget to claim your free book with your token or put it towards getting £1 of your favourite book. A full list of terms and conditions can be found here: http://www.worldbookday.com/books/terms/
