HOME LEARNING - Summer 2- Week 2 w/b 8th June 2020

This week we will be thinking about Dinosaur facts

ENGLISH

Task 1 - Choose a dinosaur. Research some facts about that dinosaur. You may use the dinosaur fact cards to help you. Make a fact file using the writing

template if you choose with facts such as when they lived, interesting facts

about the dinosaur and what they ate? Draw a picture of your chosen dinosaur

to illustrate your work.


Task 2 - Choose a dinosaur and read and write the correct labels.


Task 3 - Complete the reading comprehension 'Milly's Big Surprise.'


Task 4 - Choose your favourite dinosaur picture, colour it in and

write some adjectives around it to describe it such as sharp, pointed

teeth; strong, white horns; small head; long, powerful tail; etc


Task 5 - Add the suffix -er or -est to the adjectives. Choose 4 adjectives from

the list and write sentences with -er and -est in them. Read them to your Mum

or Dad. Check that they make sense. Choose your level 1*, 2* or 3*.


Task 6 - Complete a dinosaur wordsearch.

MATHS

PLEASE TURN OVER

Task 1 - Watch the Halves and Quarters Powerpoint. Cut out a square.

Fold it in half. Now fold it in half again to make quarters. Complete

pages 38 and 40 Rising Stars Workbook C recognising halves and

quarters. In the kitchen talk about halving and quartering fruit or a

slice of bread.


Task 2 - Watch the Fractions of Amounts Powerpoint. Complete

pages 39 and 41 Rising Stars Workbook C practising halving and

quartering numbers.
