The years 1931-9138


In 1931,Amy flew from England to Japan and back.The next year ,in 1932, she made another long journey. She flew from England to South Africa and back.Amy Johnson broke records of the fastest time ever on both flights.In 1933 to1938 she broke many more records for many more flights.



The Second World War


The Second World War began in 1939.Amy Johnson joined the Royal Air Force and as a result of this she started to fly aeroplanes for Britain. Sadly, in 1941,Amy Johnson died in an aeroplane crash near London. It was a horrible flight.



Amy's achievements


Amy Johnson celebrated many of her achievements. One of the greatest was for being the first woman pilot. Amy showed people that a woman was able to fly. Amy was not only very brave and strong but she also was very successful. In fact Amy Johnson broke many more records and she made lots of people interested in planes.
