Ireland has been inhabited for over ten thousand years and therefore has a long history. Ireland is famous for its St Patrick's day, the leprechaun and many legendary battles. With a capital of Dublin and a population of 5,387,000, a third of whom live in Dublin, Ireland is very lucky to have made it into the 2016 EURO tournament. The biggest population drop in Ireland was the potato famine which resulted in mass starvation and lessened Ireland's population by twenty five percent. Many Irish people left Ireland and fled to the USA to start new lives due to the famine.

*Angela Brady is an Irish born architect and has lived in London for over 25 years. In 2011 she was elected president of the UK's Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) for a two-year term. She is a past chairperson of the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland (RIAI) London Forum

*George Drumgoole Coleman (1795 – 1844), also known as George Drumgold Coleman, was an Irish civil architect who played an instrumental role in the design and construction of much of the civil infrastructure in Singapore, after it was founded by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819.
