Blizzards!

A blizzard is when it snows so much that snow goes everywhere.

Blizzards can cause extreme cold, freezing rain, snow, ice and high

winds. When a blizzard comes the temperature will go down at -12.

A blizzard usually snows for three hours so everything won't be

too damaged, which means it won't be as hard as an earthquake or

tsunami to clean and wind goes at least 35 mph. Blizzards can

achieve up to 25-30 feet deep. However, blizzards bring about strong winds

which go at least 35mph in the cold weather. These winds could

blow up houses, damage property and cause power lines to collapse

causing people to go without power and warmth.

Some safety tips to survive blizzards are

  1. Stay indoors and dress warmly.

  1. Eat regularly to provide the body with energy for producing its own heat.

  1. Drink water. Also, drink warm broth and juices.

  1. Keep dry. Change wet clothing to prevent the loss of body heat.

  1. If you must drive, carry a cell phone.

  1. Keep the gas tank full.

  1. Let someone know where you’re going, just in case your car gets stuck.
