The years 1831-1938


In 1931,Amy flew from England to Japan and back. The next year, in 1932, she flew from England to South Africa and back. During both flights Amy Johnson broke records and registered the fastest time ever. Between 1933 and 1938 she went on many more flights and broke many more records.


The second World War




The Second World War began in 1939. During this period Johnson joined the Royal Air Force. As a result of this Amy flew aeroplanes for Britain. Sadly in the year 1941 Amy died in an aeroplane crash near London.


Amy’s achievements



Amy had many achievements throughout her life but the greatest one was that she was the first woman pilot. She showed people that not only men can fly planes but women can as well. Johnson was not only brave and strong but she was a successful person and she never gave up. Amy broke many records and she made people interested in planes.
