The children have been learning all about train rides this week. As well as discussing the book, sequencing the story and role playing,'The Train Ride, 'we have also gone on a pretend train journey! We have been learning some rhymes and songs related to trains and sorted past and present transport into groups. The children have been working hard on remembering the numbers before and after and we have even found time to start to write out number sentences to 10.The children have been learning to read and spell 4 letter words and composing sentences that link to the topic.
Next week we will be celebrating science week and our topic is 'Bumper to Bumper'. We will be sorting floating and sinking materials, discussing safety on the roads and making balloon cars. We will be subtracting amounts from a group and continuing our work on phase 4 phonics.
Our Challenge
To help celebrate science week it would be nice that you conduct a science experiment. There will be a handout coming home on Thursday. The handout also has lots of super links to other science experiments, so you can also take your pick!
Reminders
- Please continue to read with your child every day.
- Please return personal targets if you haven't done so already. New targets have been sent home today
- Please be aware that the children do drink water in the day. They have a choice with snack which is water or milk, as well ,as lunch refreshment and the bottle of water that they bring from home so, the liquid drunk from their water bottle is not a true reflection on how much liquid your child has drunk that day.
- Thank you for all your donations of clothes. We are most grateful of your contributions. We are always in need of extra clothes so please keep us in mind if you are having a clear out!
Mother's Pamper Day is Wednesday 23rd March at 2.15pm to 3.30pm. Your child can still purchase a gift for you at school too. The price of the gift is £3.50
