Elephants
are high at the shoulder. These animals are herbivores as their daily diet consists of grass, roots and vegetables. They weigh over 5 up till 7.5 tonnes. They have larger brain than any other mammal. In fact, their brains can weigh up to thirteen pounds. The elephants use their trunks to drink and eat. They can drink up to 200-250 litres a day. They spend almost all the day eating plants. A baby elephant is called a calf. Elephants protect their babies by holding them under them. An African elephant can grow up to 13 feet tall. They have long trunks and huge ears . They live in the wild, in parts of Africa, South Asia and South East Asia. They live in herds.
