HAMLET

THE GOOD THE BAD THE EVIL

Hamlet is a young man who you could have lots of different feelings about. You could think he is evil, conversely you could feel sorry for him. Here are some of the reasons you might think that Hamlet is evil:

- Hamlet wants revenge

- He wants to kill his step father

- He kills Polonius, the king's adviser

- He shouts at Ophelia, makes her mad which makes her die in distress

- He is rude and boistrous to his mother

Here are some of the reasons why you might feel sorry for Hamlet :

- His father dies (his uncle killed him)

- Ophelia drowns

- The King and Laertes ploted against him (eg the posioned sword)

You may think either but I feel sorry for him because Claudius killed his father and he is just trying to get revenge. I mean would you like it if your uncle killed your father? After all this is murder. Would you get revenge or on the other hand would you leave it for someone else to sort out? This is the problem Hamlet has. I would call the police because taking revenge would just make thinsg worse. Remember in Hamlet everyone ends up dead, except Horatio.
