The gift

One day there was a girl named Katie. Her mum and dad wanted to surprise her with a gift. They bought her a white cat to keep Katie company.

Mum called Katie in the garden. "Come here, Katie. We've got something for you," she said.

On the table there was a colourful box. Katie looked in the box and she said, "There isn't anything in the box."

Mum got worried and she looked under the table. There was nothing there. Suddenly dad heard the cat meowing. Dad pointed to the tree. He said, "Look! There's something in the tree."

Katie looked and she saw a white cat. She was surprised and she gave a big hug to her parents and told them, "Thank you, finally I have a cat." Katie was very happy and named the cat Coconut.
