Antarctic Habitats
Antarctica is the Earth's coldest and driest continent!
There are howling winds with freezing temperatures and very thick ice, up to four kilometres deep.
Only in the slightly warmer coastline can plants survive such as lichens, mosses and hair grass.
Antarctica is also the home of the orca, fur seals and emperor penguins.
Once the antarctic winter sets, it's dark for more than two months.
