The Three Ages of Malta's Prehistory
Malta was first inhabited in 5900 BC, and was repopulated many years later. Itwas repopulated with people who, at their peaks, built the Megalithic Temples, but was once again repopulated by Bronze Age warriors.
The Stone Age
We believe that the first ever people on Malta, all came from Sicily. These people lived in caves, and even made their own pottery out of clay. These sculptures all had designs, so that means these people also had a sense of style.
The Copper Age
After the first people died out, a new group (which was way smarter) emerged on the island of Malta. These people put their minds together so they could build the Megalithic Temples that still stand today. We believe they used the temples to pray to their gods, because evidence shows statues of gods of fertility carved out of stone.
