Hi everyone. Today I am going to be writing about a Victorian traveller! His name was Alexander Von Humboldt and he was Charles Darwin's, who discovered evolution, inspiration to travelling. Alexander wrote about his discoveries and travels as books and then they published. Some of his books include; Views of nature; Political essay on the kingdom of new Spain and Jaguars & electric eels. He was born on September 14th 1769 and died May 6th 1859. He mainly just explored Central and South America with his friend, who was a doctor/botanist called Aime-Jacques-Alexandre Goujoud Bonpland! Together they explored the coast of Venezuela, the Amazon, Orinoco Rivers, and much of Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Mexico throughout the time of 1799-1805 (6 years). During his travels, he discovered a place which is now called Humboldt Current but can also be known as Peru Current! If you know any other Victorian Travellers, please comment on this and let me know!
