Coral reefs.

First the coral starts to grow together. Each coral makes a hard wall around it. Then the coral dies. The wall gets left behind! Then another coral grows on top. When the coral grows more it gets bigger and taller.

Corals are very colorful. They look like underwater gardens but they are not plants they are tiny animals.
