Writing about Amy Johnson
The years 1931- 1938
In 1931 , Amy flew from England to Japan and back. The next year , in 1932 , she made another long journey . She flew from England to South Africa and back. In both flights she broke records and registered her fastest time ever. Between 1933 and 1938 Amy Johnson went on many more flights and broke many more records .
The Second World War
The Second World War began in 1939. During this period Amy joined the Royal Air Force. While she was serving as a pilot in the Royal Air Force she flew aeroplanes for Britain. Sadly Amy Johnson died in an aeroplane crash near London .
Amy's achievements
One of Amy's biggest achievements is that she was the first woman pilot. She showed people that a woman was able to fly a plane. Amy Johnson was not only brave and smart but she was also successful . Amy broke many records as a pilot. She made people interested in planes.
