Please share this story with your child then discuss with them the morals of taking things from others!
We also ask that you spend time with your child comparing sizes of objects and using mathematical language such as longer, shorter, wider and narrower etc. Please also discuss ways of measuring using non-standard units, for example how hands are used to measure horses. This will support your child’s learning when we compare the size of Jack and the Giant, as well as comparing and measuring our feet using non-standard units, in our case unifix cubes!
A very delicious and healthy bean salad will be made by the children next week. We will also be making a Giant and a Jack for display,we will use the technique of papier mache to make parts of them and we ask that if you have any suitable old newspaper to please send them in on Monday. At the beginning of the week the children will also be planting broad bean seeds and we will begin recording their growth.
