Interview with Miss McAndrew
Q: How long have you been a teacher for?
A:I have only been a teacher for almost 4 months because I'm just newly qualified but I did a little training before that for 2 years so officially I've been a teacher for 4 months
Q: Have you ever had any different jobs and if so what were they?
A:Before I became a teacher I had a couple of different jobs. I worked in some summer camps teaching kids how to play Gaelic football and soccer and a little bit of hurling. I also used to work in our local shop and in two of our local hotels.
Q: What was your dream job when you were little and why?
A:When I was little I either wanted to be a teacher or a fitness instructor. I loved sports when I was little so I always wanted to teach people how to be sporty and how to be healthy and all those kind of things.
Q: What made you decide to become a teacher?
A:Well I really enjoy working with others and I love working with children because I love seeing when children get something, you know when you see they might be struggling on something and when it finally clicks and they get it. I love it just to see people succeeding at something that they are doing.
Q: What lesson do you enjoy the most and why?
A:I really enjoy teaching English and that's simply because I love the children's stories and how they write them and how they express themselves.
Q: What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
A:In my spare time I like running and I enjoy playing football.
Q: Do you have a favourite colour?
A:My favourite colour is red, simply because everyone always says "Oh red really suits you."
Q: If your house was on fire and you could only save one object what would it be?
A: Apart from people, I would probably save my photo albums because I think it's really important to hold onto those memories.
Q: What's your favourite band and why?
A:My favourite band would probably be, it's a one man band, it's Passenger because I love his songs, he really writes his lyrics with meaning behind them.
Q: What's your favourite song and why?
A:It's called Bullets because there's a lovely story behind the song.
