I hope you had a great Mothers Day 
weekend and kept those hands washed!

Today the suggestion is that you find time to do the following tasks just like a school day.

The tasks are all to be completed to the best of your ability (remember Miss Khurana still has high expectations of you!), but I also want to see your creative side so feel free to send me exciting ways you have met each objective. I look forward to seeing your learning in action : ). 


*Remember to put your REAL first name (not surname for data protection) on everything that you post so I can see who I am writing back to!

Remember, it's important you don't just
do tasks for the sake of it! 

Good learning means asking questions and clarifying if needed. Speak to an adult if you have any questions or use Mr google to help break down the topic into steps you understand.

11.00 - 12.30 Literacy: Persuasive Writing 

Having completed a cold task already at school, this week I have set tasks I feel can build your understanding of persuasive writing and give you deeper knowledge and understanding to produce an excellent end task (hot task).

1.30 - 2.30 RE (Sikhism) 
QUICK REMINDER: Its important when learning about different cultures and religions that we are respectful and think carefully about comments we make.

Prior Learning: Sikh festivals with a focus on Bandi Chhor Divas. 

Task 1: Start by recapping the story behind the Sikhs festival, Bandi Chhor Divas (as we are not in class find a family member to be your talk partner).
 
If you can't remember the story use the internet to remind you. (*to keep safe on the internet, type in 'for kids' to make the content child friendly).

Task 2: Research the following: 
1.The history of Sikhs wearing the turban
2.Different reasons why Sikhs wear turbans
3.Reasons other people may wear turbans

Task 3: Reflect on the following questions either independently or with a family member

Q. How is the turban a Sikh person wears different
from that a turban someone else may wear?

Q. How might a Sikh wearing a turban in modern Britain feel?

Challenge:
This is a step by step guide to wearing a turban like a Sikh.

2.30 - 3.00 Reflection Diary: 

Remember mental health matters, not just today but every day! 

﻿One way to keep track of our feelings and emotions as well as our experiences is to keep a diary. So,at the end of each day I encourage you all to take a few moments to reflect on your day and write a few lines that you can share with everyone else in the class.
