Hello everybody,

Were you able to enjoy the sunshine last week? I've been so impressed with all of your Forest School learning you have been doing at home. I have loved seeing the pictures :) Remember to keep following our three simple rules:

1) Look after yourself 2) Look after each other 3) Look after nature

Each week, I will be uploading some simple, nature-based Forest School and outdoor learning challenges that you can enjoy together at home, in your garden or on your walk each day. If you complete any, please send pictures to your teachers so that I can upload them to the next Forest School blog. Thanks, Miss Miah :)

Challenge 8

This is a real classic! Collect some flowers and greenery, place in a small shallow bowl, half fill with water and place in some string with a knotted end into the water. Once ready stick in the freezer, as soon as it’s frozen fill to the brim with water, this will make sure the flowers are completely iced over. Remove from the freezer once frozen, pop off the bowl and hang from the string in some trees!🙂

Ice Art

Picture stones

This is an activity that just keeps giving, firstly collect some flat pebbles and paint them white. Once you’ve done that draw pictures on all the stones, different things on each side, as random as you like. Then line the stones in different orders to make stories, the more random the stones the more creative they can be. Instead of pictures you can even put numbers or letters on them, and there are hundreds of things to do such as ordering, maths calculations, spelling etc. Perhaps you could write positive messages on them and leave them where people will see them.🌿🍃☘️🍀🍃
