Writing about Amy Johnson

The years 1931-1938

In 1931, Amy flew from England to Japan and back. The next year, in 1932, she made another long journey. She flew fom England to South Africa and back. In both flights she broke records and registered the fastest time ever. Between 1933 and 1938 she made more flights and broke many more records.


The second World War

The second world war began in 1939. Amy decided to join the Royal Air Force. When she joined the Air Force she started to fly aeroplanes for Britain. Unfortunately in 1941 she died in a horrible plane crash near London.


Amy's achievements

One of the biggest achievements of Amy Johnson was that she was the first woman pilot. She showed everybody that not only men can fly planes but so can women can be able to fly planes.Johnson was a very brave and strong woman but she was also successful and she always had faith in herself. She made a lot of people interested in planes.
