Alessandro Del Piero

Alessandro Del Piero is a forty seven year old, Italian football legend who had twenty one years of success during his career. He is mostly known as a Juventus star player.

Del Piero was born on the 9th November 1974 in Conegliano, Veneto in Italy. As a child, he always dreamed to be a professional football player. He used to play football regularly in his backyard with his two friends Nelso and Pierpaolo, who shared this dream with him but only Alessandro managed to become a professional football player eventually. Alessandro has an older brother named Stefano who played professional football for a while until he was injured. After the injury Stefano became Alessandro's agent.

In 1981, Del Piero started playing football for the local youth team of San Vendemiano, where in order to gain more playtime, he also featured as a goalkeeper. In 1988, he was spotted by football scouts and at the age of thirteen he left home to play with youth team of Padova. On the 22nd November 1992, Alessandro scored his first professional goal in a victory over Ternana. Many successes came after that such as winning the "Ballon d'Or" award in 1995.

Alessandro Del Piero joined Juventus in 1993. In 1995, he was awarded Roberto Baggio's number 10 squad number, for which he is most known for till this day. During his time with Juve, he scored two hundred and ninety goals. He won a long list of awards and rose to football stardom. He was released from the Juventus team in 2012. For his last two active years, he joined an Australian football team. In October 2015, he officially retired as a professional football player. He is now pursuing a coaching career.

I admire Del Piero so much and consider him as one of my favourite football legends, especially because he was one of the best players in Italy and of my favourite football team, Juventus. My dream is to have the pleasure of meeting him someday.
