Remembrance Day

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month in 1918 the guns of Europe fell silent. After four years of bitter fighting, The Great War was finally over. The Armistice was signed at 5am in a railway carriage in France on November 11, 1918. Six hours later, at 11am, the war ended.

Miss Payne and Mrs Parker did an assembly on Remembrance day and told us facts about the war. Some of these were;

- World War 1 began on 28 July 1914

- It ended on 11 November 1918, it lasted for over 4 years.

Can you remember any other facts about World War 1 or World War 2?

In London, in 2014 ceramic poppies were made and created a sea of red pouring out of The Tower of London.
