Reading

Finish off any reading comprehension that is left in your Comprehension Book. If you are all finished - well done you! Do you have any science books you can read about LIGHT or SHADOWS? Make sure you are reading for at least 20 minutes every day this week. Write a comment below about the book you are currently reading at home. Read, read, read …! I am reading my book every day for 1 hour :)

Challenge this week:

If you had £200 to spend on a 'Year 3 Party' for the end of the year what would you spend the money on? You need to think about food and drinks, decorations, games and party bags and anything extra you think the party needs - don't forget a big cake! You will need to find out how much these things cost from the Internet. Can you find the cheapest price for things - don't just buy the first thing you see. You can use a calculator to help you add and subtract the totals if you want to! YOU NEED TO GET AS CLOSE TO £200 AS YOU CAN!!

Write your 'Year 3 Party Plan' in your blue book. Design a PARTY hat and wear it for a photo!


Science - LIGHT - Investigating SHADOWS!

1) On a sunny day go outside and make a shadow with your body. Does your body look normal?

2) Play shadow tag with a brother or sister or mum or dad or even your dog!

3) Take a photo of you and your shadow!

4) Click on the lightbulb to find out more about shadows.

5) Explain how shadows are formed. Write an answer in your blue book.

6) You need a torch and a small toy next. Can you create a shadow using the toy and torch?

I challenge you to make the shadow longer and shorter. How do you do it?! Write a sentence in your blue book about why the shadow gets longer and shorter.

7) Click on the shadow puppet to watch the video. Can you make your own shadow puppet?

  3. Write some code to either fly a rocket ship, move the wolf to the 3 little pigs house or the camel in the desert - show your mum and dad how you write some code!
  4. practice your times tables on J2eBLAST - ask a friend to play against you!
  5. Use the internet to find some information about ZEUS - king of the gods!
  6. Click on the UK flag to go write a comment on our VE DAY BLOG!
  7. Stay Safe on the Internet and remember what we teach you at school about staying safe!
