DIARY ENTRY
While scanning dad’s oyster card we climbed aboard the shiny red bus. Quickly dad and I jumped onto the two front seats at the top of the bus. As we were approaching the next bus stop we noticed our friends, who saw dad and I, so came straight upstairs to sit with us.
We soon arrived at Fairfield Halls where I met all my other friends. When Mrs. Kember (our dance teacher) arrived she counted us all and we said goodbye to our parents before going backstage. While chatting madly we made our way to the plain white changing rooms via the stage door!
My costume was a red skirt, a black top with long sleeves and a red ribbon for my hair. Once we were changed we went up to a massive white balcony overlooking the stage to watch the first half of the show and, to our delight, Mrs Kember generously passed around delicious custard creams.
As soon as the first half was over we went to line up backstage ready to perform our dance; I felt very excited. Soon it was our turn, and before long we were on stage in our starting positions ready to perform our dance. We danced amazingly to loud applause and felt very proud of ourselves as we left the stage. All the teachers, especially Mrs Kember, were very pleased with us too.
After we had finished using the toilet, we skipped happily up to the choir seats and watched some other schools perform their dances. To close the show a man from a band called Gonzales came and sang some great songs that we listened to merrily while dancing the night away….I haven’t stopped dancing yet!
