Malta's Prehistory

Introduction

Lots of people lived in Malta, but the first people that lived here came in prehistoric times. We know this because they did not know how to read or write. We think they came from Sicily by boat or raft. These people must have been very brave to come to Malta by sea.

Their Homes

The first settlers most likely lived in natural caves like Għar Dalam. Archeologists know this because they found human remains among the fossilized bones of animals which were dug up there. These belonged to the first settlers of Malta.

Their Tools

The first people who lived in Malta had not discovered metals yet, like tin or copper. Their tools were most likely made of stone. There fore we call these people the stone age people.

Conclusion

These people lived thousands and thousands of years ago, however they must have had their own hopes and dreams.
