Mother Of Dragons

Story Starter!

... Or maybe their adventures were about to end; the snow leopard slipped its way silkily towards where Zoya and the newly born dragon were. The leopard's skin blended with the snowy surroundings making it invisible. However, even if the dragon had only just been born, it could still see the danger approaching, despite it being invisible to the human eye.

As Zoya caressed the beautiful creature's body she noticed a new sense of what seemed to be an alertness in the dragon's eye that had only just revealed itself. Nervously she laid it down and scanned around for a predator. Had it just been her imagination or something that naturally happens with dragons? For she couldn't see any threat whatsoever. Until it moved.

The snow leopard had begun a stealthy jog to where Zoya and the dragon were, and Zoya had seen the movement out the corner of her eye. She drew her dead mother's sword from her belt - the one that had served so many of Zoya's ancestors. She had never expected to use it so soon, but even so, she was more than ready.

The leopard had clearly spotted the sword but it still wasn't retreating: it was coming for the kill. Suddenly the animal was only a few yards away, it had somehow got so near without Zoya noticing, despite the fact she'd been staring at it. She drew back her sword, and as the leopard leapt towards her, she swung. The creature lay motionless on the floor, while the dragon hopped towards Zoya, obviously relieved to have finished that business.

Zoya couldn't believe the beauty of the baby dragon.

Zoya's face lit up at the cracked egg.

Zoya held the dragon adoringly in her hands. The dragon clearly had scales and wings so it was definitely a dragon. It gracefully showed off its horn and beak. She felt extremely excited.

Question Time!

I think Zoya got the egg from her mother on her death bed.

She got it to hatch by knocking on the shell.

Zoya has left home to get away from the people who would hurt the dragon.

I think she told only her dad (to explain where she'd gone), but nobody else.

I think she is planning to raise the dragon and have adventures with it.
