Would you really want to hold August back from greatness? Yes, his parents have done a reasonable job of educating August. Unfortunately, his mother can only take him so far as she is an unqualified teacher, and has admitted even she struggles with fractions. The school could teach August everything he needs to know and more, with ease. Some people, still believe that one to one teaching, with his mother, would be beneficial for August. Yet, he would not be able to access the full curriculum, how is this benefiting August? How is holding August back from his full potential, beneficial? August could learn so much more, actually being out in the wilder word, than being stuck in a house all day. There is a very small possibility of August being bullied, and even if he was, there are systems in place to deal with bullying. Would you really want to be limiting August's future by not letting him attend school?
Some people wish to lock August in a cage, as his childhood wastes away. Until one day he breaks free into the wilder world with no social understanding or experience. Would you really want to put August through the pain of being isolated for the rest of his life. Yes, he has a very small group of friends, yet is that the only people you ant August to know apart from his family. His friends will slowly grow closer to other people they see more often and move on from August, he will need to know others, not just his family to lean on when he goes trough this. By attending school his social understanding will increase and new experiences will be found each day. Again I insist the point, do you really want to put August through the pain and agony of being isolated for the rest of his life?
