I Am a Cat

Meow, Meow, Meow, this means hello to me! I am a 3-year-old tabby cat and my name is Dale. I am always very busy. Taking care of my human family takes up a lot of time.

I wake up very early and start to meow very loud until the mum wakes up. She needs to be reminded that I need to be fed but she always starts packing the kids' lunches first. That's not very nice I think.

After the kids leave for school I get ready to help the dad with his work. I find a comfortable spot on the sofa in his office and I keep a close eye on what he is doing to make sure he doesn't make any mistakes. I can't help it that sometimes I fall asleep. Every time he gets up to make some tea I make sure to follow him and jump on the counter, meow loudly and act cute so that he gives me treats. Then I go back to my previous spot.

At around 3 o'clock the kids and their mum return from school. The kids' mum hurries them to do their homework. I do my bit too. I jump on the table and I sit on their homework. I am sure this helps them get it done faster. Their mother cannot seem to understand this as she always picks me up off the table and after kissing me she puts me back on the ground. But I am not discouraged and get back up again.

When homework time is over, it is time for supper. Each day I hope that mum has made meat or fish. If that is the case I go to sit near the oldest girl as she always lets me steal some food off her plate. I think she would feed me all her plate if her mother wouldn't get angry.

After supper, it is time to start closing off the day and after playing a bit with the kids, I help them get ready for bed. Then I get up on the closest bed and hear the kids bedtime story to make sure mum reads it properly. She always does though.

I, then follow mum downstairs so she feeds me. I watch some TV with mum and dad. Then after they go to bed I check all the house to make sure it is all safe. Then I go cuddle with mummy and daddy and go to sleep after another tough day. I don't know what they would do without me.
