Wow it's Wednesday in 4M

Day Three. Great to see some more of you joining in online and sharing your learning. Who has started their Rainforest project?

Here are my suggestions for Wednesday of Week One in 4M:

9.00 PE Warmup 

You lucky people. Now you have a warm-up choice - either Joe Wicks or Mr Cleary! Which do you prefer (I won't tell Mr Cleary if it's not him). 

9.30 Maths

Today we have a video lesson for you on Tenths and Hundredths, with some questions to work through. Click on this link to get to your video lesson:

Watch the video, then either print the activity, or view it on your screen. When you are finished, get someone to check your answers. 

Finish by writing about the lesson in your Learning Diary. This is a new scheme for us, so what did you think of it?

10.30 English - Persuasive Writing

Find the English Week 1 pack from the Year 4 Week 1 menu. Your third lesson is: 

LI: I Know what a balanced argument looks like
        
Use the questions below to create a for and against table.

  Why are uniforms important?
 Should fidget spinners be allowed in the classroom?
 Do we need homework?
 Can you ever justify breaking rules?
       
Choose one of the questions above that you feel most passionately about. Have a verbal debate with someone in your house - one of you 'for' and one of you 'against'. Remember to use the persuasive language you found yesterday to help you structure your debate. Remember too that it's up to you how you showcase your learning, so be creative!

If you didn't take home a copy of our first chapter, 'Before Mother Wolf Was A Mother She Was A Fighter', then don't worry, because it's saved here and on the Y4 menu, along with some questions. Catch up with any reading you missed, and then answer the Big Picture questions that you will find here.

1.00 - 2.15 Personal Project: Theme of your choice 


(This was originally Ms Khurana's idea, but I liked it so much I stole it!)
On Wednesday mornings we should be making our way to Willesden Sports Centre for a nice cold swim! Unfortunately we cant swim online so on Wednesdays I want you to do something a little different. Think of a topic or theme that you are passionate about and create a project (not online).

You will have to:
Think of a subject/topic
Research the topic
Decide on a title and subheadings
Create a content page
Create images to go with your writing
Decide how to present your work (coloured paper/booklet etc)

A FEW RULES: 
You have to think of something you enjoy and thus would like to teach all the rest of us about. 
You have to hand write the whole project. As most of our daily learning will be done online I don't want you to forget how to write, so this will be a weekly task to keep the beautiful handwriting you have already started to carve for yourself on point!
You have to bring it in when we come back (whenever this will be) and we will spend the day sharing each others passion and learning something new and random!

I look forward to seeing these. Remember don't post the project as this will be shared on our return, but when you decide on a topic share it with us so we can all get excited about the prospect of what we might learn about : )  Let me know if you have any questions : )
