St Martin de Porres was born in 1579 in lima( a place in Peru) and he had dark skin just like his mother and at his he was looked down upon by his father, and in early childhood he was badly neglected. Martin was a very intelligent boy , he was befriend by a doctor who taught him how to heal people.

martins family was quite poor so his mum couldnt afford much food to eat also he had to face racism because of martins dark skin his father refused to acknowledge him as his own child so he left martin and his mother alone in the house. Without the support of his father Martin and his mother lived in terrible poverty. when he was canonised he was the patron saint of justice.

Martin was determined to help the less fortunate because he had experienced how it was to be poor and it wasnt very nice and good to be poor. He also wanted to stop racism so black people could feel more appreciated and wanted and also to have more justice and equality towards all races including black culture.Martin also helped many others in need and healed many sick,poorly citizens.

Helping others

martin de Porres helped many different people by healing their wounds and treating their sickness and using different medicines to cure people. He also distributed food to the less fortunate and raised money for charities and was frequently almsgiving he was a generous caring and conscientious man.

A very sad time (Martin sadly passed away)

Martin De Porres sadly died. subsequently he was withered as he was imprisoned and publicly humiliated and tortured and then was arrested into prison and he died shortly. Martin De Porres died on the 3rd of November (which is his feast day) and he died at age 59.

Martin went to school for only 2 years because his mother was in poverty and couldnt afford much school fees for him so martin was educated by a barber / surgeon to learn about different types of medicines. He spent hours of the night in prayer,a practice which increased when he got older he started to pray on a daily basis.
