It was late into the evening when the magic happened.
The forest was the perfect place for a story to unfold. A sense of mystery
filled the secluded wood, as a swirling, grey fog mischievously crept its way
between the trees. After days of waiting, her transformation was complete.
The Queen Bee held one of her many bees in her outstretched hand;
the moment she’d been waiting for had finally arrived…
The creeping mist swirled around her, towering into the sky. The setting sun glinted like a faint glow of honey on the horizon, and the mist sparkled in its light. "Oh, great Queen!" cried Pine, a small young bee. He buzzed his wings excitedly. Another larger bee flew up beside him. "It's really happening!" he gasped. The mist began to evaporate, and there in the strange light was a huge bee, the biggest of them all, her wings shining silver and her fur glittering gold. The bees all drew in their breath. There was a moment of stunned silence, until Splash said, "She's beautiful!" The other bees joined in, cheering and worshipping their queen. "She's one of us now!" exclaimed Marigold happily.
"Woah... I wish I was that big!" squealed a larva.
"Well you're not, and you never will be, so it's time to go back to the honeycomb." a pretty female worker bee told him sternly. The larva wriggled after her grumpily.
The queen looked lovingly at her colony, who were busily preparing the honeycomb for her children. The cage which had once locked her up stood empty in the clearing, looking defeated. Ha, She thought. There's no trapping me now!
