The RMS Titanic

The titanic was a luxurious ship and it was built by a company called White Star Line. This magnificent ship took three years of construction in Belfast, Northern Ireland. When the a waiting day had come on the 31st March 1912, the titanic was launched into the ocean. After a few weeks the ship hit an iceberg while in the Atlantic ocean and sank.

The RMS Titanic also known as Royal Mail Steamer Titanic was the most impressive ,fastest and biggest ship at that time. This massive ship measured about 28 meters wide, 53 meters tall and 269 metes long. On the 10 of April the Titanic set out on a maiden voyage. There was 2,200 people on board and 900 of them were crew members. On the ship there

were three coal burning engines . Each day

175 fire men shovelled 600 tons of coal.

On the 5th day an iceberg hit the Titanic and

scraped along the side of the ice the teared

four sections of the hull. The captain Edward

Jhon Smith and his crew were trying to sent

as much signals as possible. The boat started

sink and the Titanic only had 20 life boats.

Sadly only 705 survived.

The Titanic was found almost 70 years after the incident in 1985 by an oceanographer Dr Robert Ballard. They found 300 bodies buried under the sand in the deep depths of the Atlantic ocean. Most of these body's are of people who tried to swim but froze to death or wasn't able to get on a life boat.
