TASK: Click on the link to watch a clip about a girl who finds some bubbles. This is a lovely story about a little girl who gets taken on an adventure with her bubbles........
TASK: Write a story about a character who finds some bubbles on a beach.
waves crashing against white clouds and soft sand
the rocks
a hot, sunny day
a sailing boat floating on the sea
crabs hiding in rock pools
Plan your story:
OPENING: Draw a picture of your beach and around the picture write some ideas for the beginning of your story and generate some words and phrases.
Who is your character? What do they look like? Where about on the beach are they? What do they find? What is the beach like? What is the weather like?
MIDDLE:What happens when they find the bubbles? Where do the bubbles take them? Who do they meet? What do they do?
END: How does the character's adventure end?
TASK: Type or write your story up. Add lots of powerful verbs to describe the movements in the story eg floating, drifting, bouncing, sinking. Add lots of adjectives to add detail to your sentences. See the next page for some words that you could use.
Remember your capital letters and full stops.
Join your ideas within sentences with different conjunctions eg because, when, so, but
