St. Catherine

St. Catherine of Alexandria is also known as St. Catherine of the wheel and The Great Martyr St. Catherine who was a Christian saint and virgin.


She was born in 287 AD and died in 305 AD in Alexandria Egypt.


She was martyred in the early 4th century at the hands of the emperor Mexentius.

Her place of burial is Saint Catherine's Monastery, Egypt.

Her feast is on the 25 November and she is one of the fourteen Holy helpers.
